When the real estate market experienced a downturn nearly ten years ago, Neal and Angie Leeper saw an opportunity to provide affordable housing and quality service to local owners and prospective tenants in Greensboro, NC. With only $500, one property, and a desk in the basement of their home, they started their property management business, Marathon Property Solutions. Seven years later, the company manages nearly 1,000 properties ranging from studio apartments to executive rentals. Marathon Moving Company was an idea that blossomed from assisting renters and owners with their property management needs. The company was born out of the desire to provide an easier move with quality service and less stress along the way.

Great experience! Marathon packed for me and moved everything to my new home. The packing and loading crews were fast and efficient and used the right size boxes for everything. They were careful to not damage walls or floors when moving things to the truck. On the truck they solved the Tetrus puzzle to get everything to fit together for maximum capacity in the truck. At my new home, they took care to not damage the building in any way when moving me in and to not block access to the building for the other residents. They reassembled my furniture professionally and placed boxes in the right rooms to make it easy for me to unpack. Marathon made my move so easy!
From my initial phone call until the last box was loaded I was THRILLED! George Love and his entire crew were professional, friendly, caring and fast. They were on time every time and did a fantastic job. They came in as a team and packed, wrapped, dismantled, and loaded a 6000sf house from the attic to the garage in 2 days and did it with absolute care and consideration for each item. One of the crew found a box of checks and cash that we forgot to get out and George called me immediately! I could not believe the level of integrity they all possessed! I highly recommend this company to anyone who is moving especially to people who have had a bad experience with other moving companies in the past because Marathon Moving Company will without a doubt restore your faith and earn your trust!
Marvelous!! Best moving background ever! Ideally I don't have to move for briefly yet in the event that I do, I'll be calling Marathon Movers once more.

Prior to the 20th century, freight was generally transported overland via trains and railroads. During this time, trains were essential, and they were highly efficient at moving large amounts of freight. But, they could only deliver that freight to urban centers for distribution by horse-drawn transport. Though there were several trucks throughout this time, they were used more as space for advertising that for actual utility. At this time, the use of range for trucks was quite challenging. The use of electric engines, lack of paved rural roads, and small load capacities limited trucks to most short-haul urban routes.
The United States Department of Transportation has become a fundamental necessity in the moving industry. It is the pinnacle of the industry, creating and enforcing regulations for the sake of safety for both businesses and consumers alike. However, it is notable to appreciate the history of such a powerful department. The functions currently performed by the DOT were once enforced by the Secretary of Commerce for Transportation. In 1965, Najeeb Halaby, administrator of the Federal Aviation Adminstration (FAA), had an excellent suggestion. He spoke to the current President Lyndon B. Johnson, advising that transportation be elevated to a cabinet level position. He continued, suggesting that the FAA be folded or merged, if you will, into the DOT. Clearly, the President took to Halaby's fresh ideas regarding transportation, thus putting the DOT into place.
A properly fitted close-coupled trailer is fitted with a rigid tow bar. It then projects from its front and hooks onto a hook on the tractor. It is important to not that it does not pivot as a draw bar does.
The term "lorry" has an ambiguous origin, but it is likely that its roots were in the rail transport industry. This is where the word is known to have been used in 1838 to refer to a type of truck (a freight car as in British usage) specifically a large flat wagon. It may derive from the verb lurry, which means to pull or tug, of uncertain origin. It's expanded meaning was much more exciting as "self-propelled vehicle for carrying goods", and has been in usage since 1911. Previously, unbeknownst to most, the word "lorry" was used for a fashion of big horse-drawn goods wagon.
A circumferential route refers to a public transportation system that follows the route in the shape of a circle. Over time a nickname developed in the European Union, calling transportation networks such as these a "ring road". This is no surprise as Europe has several famous "ring roads" such as the Berliner Ring, the Brussels Ring, the Amsterdam Ring, the Boulevard Périphérique around Paris and the Leeds Inner and Outer ring roads. Other countries adopted the term as well which in turn made the name go international. Australia's Melbourne's Western Ring Road and India's Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road both adopted the name. However in Canada, the term is most commonly used, with "orbital" used to a much lesser extent. On the contrary, the United States calls many "ring roads" as belt-lines, beltways, or loops instead. For example, the Capital Beltway around Washington, D.C. Some ring roads use terminology such as "Inner Loop" and "Outer Loop". This is, of course, for the sake of directional sense, since compass directions cannot be determined around the entire loop.
The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) conducted a series of tests. These tests were extensive field tests of roads and bridges to assess damages to the pavement. In particular they wanted to know how traffic contributes to the deterioration of pavement materials. These tests essentially led to the 1964 recommendation by AASHTO to Congress. The recommendation determined the gross weight limit for trucks to be determined by a bridge formula table. This includes table based on axle lengths, instead of a state upper limit. By the time 1970 came around, there were over 18 million truck on America's roads.
Moving companies that operate within the borders of a particular state are usually regulated by the state DOT. Sometimes the public utility commission in that state will take care of it. This only applies to some of the U.S. states such as in California (California Public Utilities Commission) or Texas (Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. However, no matter what state you are in it is always best to make sure you are compliant with that state
