Couldn't have been more satisfied! Exceptionally proficient. Office staff amazingly accommodating with the planning, estimates, and so forth. Assessment was inside of 60 minutes (less, really) of the last cost. Movers appeared on time, were to a great degree proficient, wonderful, respectful, master, and expert. We were moving a large portion of our stuff into a storeroom, half into a little loft, so it was an entangled method... all went easily, rapidly, and with less hitches than I suspected (they even mystically got a LARGE armoire up a couple of dubious Victorian stairs). Extremely content with the administration, and would recommend without a second thought.

I have used Cook Moving Services for 4 moves and have suggested them to a few loved ones for their moves. They have given every one of us top quality work and I will keep on using them in the years to come.

QuestionIn the United States, the term 'full trailer'is usedfor a freight trailer supported by front and rear axles and pulled by a drawbar. This term isslightlydifferent in Europe, where a full traileris knownas an A-frame drawbar trail. A full trailer is 96 or 102 in (2.4 or 2.6 m) wide and 35 or 40 ft (11 or 12 m) long.

QuestionThe moving industry in the United States was deregulated with the Household Goods Transportation Act of 1980. This act allowed interstate movers to issue binding or fixed estimates for the first time. Doing so opened the door to hundreds of new moving companies to enter the industry. This led to an increase in competition and soon movers were no longer competing on services but on price. As competition drove prices lower and decreased what were already slim profit margins, "rogue" movers began hijacking personal property as part of a new scam. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) enforces Federal consumer protection regulations related to the interstate shipment of household goods (i.e., household moves that cross State lines). FMCSA has held this responsibility since 1999, and the Department of Transportation has held this responsibility since 1995 (the Interstate Commerce Commission held this authority prior to its termination in 1995).

QuestionAMSA wanted to help consumers avoid untrustworthy or illegitimate movers. In January 2008, AMSA created the ProMover certification program for its members. As a member, you must have federal interstate operating authority.Members are also required to pass an annual criminal back check,be licensed bythe FMCSA, and agree to abide by ethical standards. This would include honesty in advertising and in business transaction with customers. Each must also sign a contract committing to adhere to applicable Surface Transportation Board and FMCSA regulations. AMSA also takes into consideration and examines ownership. They are very strict, registration with state corporation commissions. This means that the mover must maintain at least a satisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).As one can imagine, those that passare authorizedto display the ProMove logo on the websites and in marketing materials. However, those that fail willbe expelledfrom the program (and AMSA) if they cannot correct discrepancies during probation.

QuestionThe definition of business logistics can be difficult to understand.Logistics can besimplyputas a means ofmanagement that plans, implements, and controls the efficiency of the business. The notion of business logistics incorporates all sectors of the industry.Itis usedas a means to manage the fruition of project life cycles, supply chains, and resultant efficiency.

QuestionThe Federal-Aid Highway Amendments of 1974 established a federalmaximum gross vehicle weight of 80,000 pounds (36,000 kg).It also introduced a sliding scale of truck weight-to-length ratios based on the bridge formula. Although, they did not establish a federalminimumweight limit.By failing to establish a federal regulation, six contiguous in the Mississippi Valley rebelled.Becoming known as the "barrier state", they refused to increase their Interstate weight limits to 80,000 pounds.Due to this, the trucking industry faced a barrier to efficient cross-country interstate commerce.
