I hired Suburban Solutions to do my move two years ago in 2016, from a one bedroom apartment, into one bedroom, of a group home. The majority of my belongings for that move, were moved into a storage unit, except the items needed for my one bedroom. Because of this move, all of my belongings were in their online filing system.
Fast forward to July 2018, and because I was happy with their customer service, as well as the service that I received previously, I hired Suburban Solutions again, to assist with my move from the exact same one bedroom in a group house that they helped me move into in July 2016, into a new one bedroom apartment. In arranging my move, I was assured that they have my belongings in their system from my move two years ago, and that they can handle my move. I am quoted a 'Low End Moving Estimate' of $525, and a 'High End Moving Estimate' of $650. This was the lowest quote that I received, in comparison to other companies I contacted, which assisted in my decision to hire them again.
The move is arranged to pick up my belongings at my storage unit on Friday, July 27th, store them in their truck over night, then complete the move out of my one bedroom in the group home, the following day on the 28th. From there, the move would continue to drop off everything at my new one bedroom apartment.
The movers that were supplied to me, were VERY rude. For instance, one mover (His name is Eddie) raised his voice, and yelled at my mother. During another point in time, I caught that same mover (Eddie), going through my belongings in a drawer, as he was emptying it out into a box WITHOUT my permission. Also, once I declined their insurance (My Renter's Insurance covered a move), Eddie intentionally was tossing my dresser drawers around as he wrapped them, scratching my dresser. When confronted, he responded that this was OK, because I denied his insurance coverage.
When this disaster of a move was finally over, the mover told us that we owed $780, despite the fact that our 'High End Moving Estimate' was $650, a whopping 20%, $130 more than my original quote.
I contacted Suburban Solutions (Brian, the Manager) about this issue, and I was told that they'd "take care of it" because they "pride themselves on Customer Service", and to be on the lookout for a mailing to the address on the check. After going a week without receiving anything, I contacted them again. Again, they said that something would be sent. Several days later, I received a scratched out, one sentence written apology from Eddie, without any kind of reimbursement. Not finding this to be sufficient, I again reached out via email. I was called and was again apologized to, given the same speech about how important Customer Service was to them and was told that they'd make this up to me, and that something would again be sent. This phone call was the last I heard from Suburban Solutions.

They were quick, cautious with my things, amenable, and exceptionally principled of keeping both my possessions and my living spaces clean. Cost was right in accordance with what i would regularly expect for a two man 550 mile move.

The cost is exceptionally sensible and they did their absolute best to offer us some assistance with getting the move done as fast as could be expected under the circumstances. I would prescribe them.

Implemented in 2014, the National Registry, requires all Medical Examiners (ME) who conduct physical examinations and issue medical certifications for interstate CMV drivers to complete training on FMCSA’s physical qualification standards, must pass a certification test. This is to demonstrate competence through periodic training and testing. CMV drivers whose medical certifications expire must use MEs on the National Registry for their examinations.
FMCSA has reached its goal of at least 40,000 certified MEs signing onto the registry. All this means is that drivers or movers can now find certified medical examiners throughout the country who can perform their medical exam. FMCSA is preparing to issue a follow-on “National Registry 2” rule stating new requirements. In this case, MEs are to submit medical certificate information on a daily basis. These daily updates are sent to the FMCSA, which will then be sent to the states electronically. This process will dramatically decrease the chance of drivers falsifying medical cards.
In 1933, as a part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s “New Deal”, the National Recovery Administration requested that each industry creates a “code of fair competition”. The American Highway Freight Association and the Federated Trucking Associations of America met in the spring of 1933 to speak for the trucking association and begin discussing a code. By summer of 1933 the code of competition was completed and ready for approval. The two organizations had also merged to form the American Trucking Associations. The code was approved on February 10, 1934. On May 21, 1934, the first president of the ATA, Ted Rogers, became the first truck operator to sign the code. A special "Blue Eagle" license plate was created for truck operators to indicate compliance with the code.
In today's popular culture, recreational vehicles struggle to find their own niche. Travel trailers or mobile home with limited living facilities, or where people can camp or stay have been referred to as trailers. Previously, many would refer to such vehicles as towable trailers.
Known as a truck in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, it is essentially a motor vehicle designed to transport cargo. Otherwise known as a lorry in the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, and Indian Subcontinent. Trucks vary not only in their types, but also in size, power, and configuration, the smallest being mechanically like an automobile. Commercial trucks may be very large and powerful, configured to mount specialized equipment. These are necessary in the case of fire trucks, concrete mixers, and suction excavators etc.
