Do not use them! They are scammers - giving a binding rate and then trying to hold your items hostage while they increase the price over $1000! At no time could they tell me the location of my belongings. When they finally came - almost a month later, I discovered they did not wrap my furniture - it was filthy and beaten up. The owner is a joke - admitting that his sales people will quote something just to get the commission. No response from Interstate for any type of refund. Complaint has been filed with the US Department of Transportation.

QuestionBeginning the the early 20th century, the 1920's saw several major advancements. There was improvement in rural roads which was significant for the time. The diesel engine, which are 25-40% more efficient than gas engines were also a major breakthrough. We also saw the standardization of truck and trailer sizes along with fifth wheel coupling systems. Additionally power assisted brakes and steering developed. By 1933, all states had some form of varying truck weight regulation.

QuestionThe year 1611 marked an important time for trucks, as that is when the word originated. The usage of "truck" referred to the small strong wheels on ships' cannon carriages. Further extending its usage in 1771, it came to refer to carts for carrying heavy loads. In 1916 it became shortened, calling it a "motor truck".While since the 1930's its expanded application goes as faras tosay "motor-powered load carrier".

QuestionWithin the world of transportation, bypass routes are often very controversial. This ismostlydue to the fact that theyrequirethe building of a road carrying heavy traffic where no road existed before. This has created conflict among society thus creating a divergence between those in support of bypasses and those whoare opposed. Supporters believe they reduce congestion in built up areas. Those in opposition do not believe in developing (often rural) undeveloped land.In addition, the cities thatare bypassedmay also oppose such a project as reduced traffic may, in turn, reduce and damage business.

QuestionTracing the origins of particular words can be quite different with so many words in the English Dictionary. Some say the word "truck" might have come from a back-formation of "truckle", meaning "small wheel" or "pulley". In turn, both sources emanate from the Greektrokhos(τροχός), meaning "wheel", fromtrekhein(τρέχειν, "to run").
