The young men who did our move were very respectful and went above and beyond what I expected. Thanks to their movers, all our belongings were delivered to us without any problems. Their skill, precision and professionalism made the move so easy for us. Please give them a kudos for the excellent job they did.

They were friendly and knowledgeable about how to move our materials. Absolutely nothing was a problem for them, including the disassembly and assembly of my bed frame, moving my wardrob, protecting the glass top to my coffee table and my mirrors, and much more. I would highly recommend These guys to friends and family.

I have used Moving Mania for my last few moves, and have never had a problem or complaint with the services provided. They were fast, efficient, and careful with my furniture. They went above and beyond to ensure that my items were not damaged and that small items such as nails or screws were not misplaced. I really appreciated the care they showed during each move.

Your crew did a phenomenal job. They wasted no time and took care to make sure that I was informed and comfortable with all decisions. I can't tell you how wonderful these guys were and company. price went up a little but that was because i forgot to add a few things during quote process. They had the weekend i needed available and delivered everything on time and actually put everything together for me and in its correct spot. I dont write reviews really but i did promise i would because i was in awh with how well the whole process went. Thanks again

They did a splendid job with our move in the beginning of last month. Out of all the movers we've dealt with Moving Mania were by far the most professional. They took apart our beds, tables and just worked with speed and grace. It was a very quick and error free move which was quick and did not cost me more than the estimate

Used Moving Mania for a cross country move. Should have known they were too slick in the sales process. Had items stolen, damaged and missing. Their third-party claims process is a joke. They make it impossible to complete the claim. If you have one thing missing on their pages and pages of documents, you can't correct it, you must completely do it over. I first had to send a dozen emails just to find out what was missing. They send links that are misleading...like, "continue the claims process". They charged me for 1795 cubic feet of truck, but I used 1400, and with photo evidence, they ignored me. (They had a transfer truck pick up my move, and based the cost on a 50 mile load, versus a 2700 mile load. BS!!! Crooks one and all. NEVER use them.

Salesperson lied to earn the business would never speak to us after the deposit was paid. We were given an estimate of approximately 2200 to do the cross county move and we were very descriptive of the items we needed moved. He said we are a family owned business and do this all the time our estimates are firm unlike other companies the only thing you would pay for extra is extra boxes not on the invoice. I was told that we have a truck "going that way" and you could have your stuff in less than a week more likely 5 days. We don't sub contract any of our work out we do it all in house that is how we have been in business for so long. Come the day of the move the movers arrive as scheduled to load the truck. We did have 1 extra box and were willing to pay the cost of that. The movers loaded the entire apartment on the truck then sent someone up to meet with my girlfriend. We were told the estimate is wrong and the price was more than 30% higher to what was quoted. They tell you this AFTER your stuff is already on their truck. Since we were moving the very next day we simply had no choice but to agree. They will not take any payments other than an initial deposit on a credit card they require cash or a cashiers check. I now understand they do not want you to do a chargeback on the credit card. We numerous times tried to contact the sales person only to never be called back or e-mails responded to, The people in the office claim to not know what the salesperson has said and did not want to get the complaints. Fast forward out delivery day was 20 days not 5 days so over 2 weeks with no furniture or clothes in our new location. When they finally delivery they try to add almost $300 to the price! One angry call to dispatch and suddenly the mistake is found. I wonder how many people actually just break down and pay it to get their stuff? The crazy thing is that the work they did was good we received our items and while still unpacking for the most part everything arrived and is undamaged. The movers the hired in Utah were sub contractors. At the end of the day I want to them to honor the original estimate that we were given. I have initiated this dispute with the credit card company for the $580 deposit we paid for the job. Above that I would like a refund of $25 per day for the difference in the 5 days I was told it would take 7 at the longest to the 20 days it actually took.

This company WILL steal your belongings. I am hoping this reaches anyone who is considering using this company as I was not aware of this scam before I ":hired" them. I have a signed "Binding Estimate" that I was told would and could not be changed without my permission ans signature, However, this company loaded all of my belongings onto their truck an called me TWO DAYS later- once they had all of my belongings, and stated they needed $4,000!! more than the signed contract in order to finish the move and deliver my belongings. Then, once I obtained an attorney, they then stated they were "storing": my belongings for me and I would need to pay the additional $4K PLUS almost $1,000 in :"storage fees" to get my belongings back. Every tine I called their ""place of business": I heard Phyllis (their customer service rep- which is a joke) on the phone yelling at another customer who's money they were trying to steal. I then received a phone call form a man named Lee (and I use the term Man loosely) who cursed at me, called me a B#@$!, and threatened t auction if all of my belongings unless I paid a price he found to be appropriate. Again, I had a signed, binding agreement with these people. After researching them on the internet and filing official complaints with the DOT and BBB i found out there are many other complaints against them. I would rather spend the $4,000 on an attorney to ensure these people are not able to do this to another family. The belongings they stole included ashes of a deceased family member, irreplaceable photos of our children, electronics, clothes, banking information- basically everything you can think of that you would need to have transported form your old home to your new home. I had to spend everything in my savings account to buy new beds and necessities for me and my family.

I can't believe there are actually companies that would treat another human being this way, but I learned the hard way. I don;t want that to happen to another person or family. PLEASE- no matter what mover you end up hiring- MAKE SURE they have good customer reviews a that are legitimate (not reviews left by members of their "scam"). This has harmed my family in a way that can never be repaired. All we wanted to do was receive our belongings for the agreed upon price in the signed contract. Instead, they walked away with over $700 of my money (which they insisted be paid at the time of pick up) AND all of my belongings.
I am continuing my lawsuit in Florida- even though I live in the Northeast, because I believe it is worth it to prevent this scam to happen to more people.

Moving Mania INC & Team were fantastic! They texted in the morning that they could come much earlier than anticipated, which we really appreciated. They moved our one bedrooms/kitchen/living room to a new place like it was nothing, and the whole time they were very positive, friendly, and stayed in communication to let us know what was going on. They also were far and away the least expensive of all the companies we contacted. Will be using Moving Mania INC for our further move for sure.

Question The number one hit on the Billboard chart in 1976 was quite controversial for the trucking industry. "Convoy," is a song about a group of reckless truck drivers bent on evading laws such as toll booths and speed traps. The song went on to inspire the film "Convoy", featuring defiant Kris Kristofferson screaming "piss on your law!" After the film's release, thousands of independent truck drivers went on strike. The participated in violent protests during the 1979 energy crisis. However, similar strikes had occurred during the 1973 energy crisis.

Question All cars must pass some sort of emission check, such as a smog check to ensure safety. Similarly, trucks are subject to noise emission requirement, which is emanating from the U.S. Noise Control Act. This was intended to protect the public from noise health side effects. The loud noise is due to the way trucks contribute disproportionately to roadway noise. This is primarily due to the elevated stacks and intense tire and aerodynamic noise characteristics.

Question The year 1611 marked an important time for trucks, as that is when the word originated. The usage of "truck" referred to the small strong wheels on ships' cannon carriages. Further extending its usage in 1771, it came to refer to carts for carrying heavy loads. In 1916 it became shortened, calling it a "motor truck". While since the 1930's its expanded application goes as far as to say "motor-powered load carrier".

Question Business routes always have the same number as the routes they parallel. For example, U.S. 1 Business is a loop off, and paralleling, U.S. Route 1, and Interstate 40 Business is a loop off, and paralleling, Interstate 40.

Question

The FMCSA has established rules to maintain and regulate the safety of the trucking industry. According to FMCSA rules, driving a goods-carrying CMV more than 11 hours or to drive after having been on duty for 14 hours, is illegal. Due to such heavy driving, they need a break to complete other tasks such as loading and unloading cargo, stopping for gas and other required vehicle inspections, as well as non-working duties such as meal and rest breaks. The 3-hour difference between the 11-hour driving limit and 14 hour on-duty limit gives drivers time to take care of such duties. In addition, after completing an 11 to 14 hour on duty period, the driver much be allowed 10 hours off-duty.

Question A Ministry of Transport (or) Transportation is responsible for transportation within a country. Administration usually falls upon the Minister for Transport. The term may also be applied to the departments or other government agencies administering transport in a nation who do not use ministers. There are various and vast responsibilities for agencies to oversee such as road safety. Others may include civil aviation, maritime transport, rail transport and so on. They continue to develop government transportation policy and organize public transit. All while trying to maintain and construct infrastructural projects. Some ministries have additional responsibilities in related policy areas as mentioned above.

Question In 1895 Karl Benz designed and built the first truck in history by using the internal combustion engine. Later that year some of Benz's trucks gave into modernization and went on to become the first bus by the Netphener. This would be the first motor bus company in history. Hardly a year later, in 1986, another internal combustion engine truck was built by a man named Gottlieb Daimler. As people began to catch on, other companies, such as Peugeot, Renault, and Bussing, also built their own versions. In 1899, the first truck in the United States was built by Autocar and was available with two optional horsepower motors, 5 or 8.

Question As we've learned the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956 was crucial in the construction of the Interstate Highway System. Described as an interconnected network of the controlled-access freeway. It also allowed larger trucks to travel at higher speeds through rural and urban areas alike. This act was also the first to allow the first federal largest gross vehicle weight limits for trucks, set at 73,208 pounds (33,207 kg). The very same year, Malcolm McLean pioneered modern containerized intermodal shipping. This allowed for the more efficient transfer of cargo between truck, train, and ships.

Question “Country music scholar Bill Malone has gone so far as to say that trucking songs account for the largest component of work songs in the country music catalog. For a style of music that has, since its commercial inception in the 1920s, drawn attention to the coal man, the steel drivin’ man, the railroad worker, and the cowboy, this certainly speaks volumes about the cultural attraction of the trucker in the American popular consciousness.” — Shane Hamilton

Question “The association of truckers with cowboys and related myths was perhaps most obvious during the urban-cowboy craze of the late 1970s, a period that saw middle-class urbanites wearing cowboy clothing and patronizing simulated cowboy nightclubs. During this time, at least four truck driver movies appeared, CB radio became popular, and truck drivers were prominently featured in all forms of popular media.” — Lawrence J. Ouellet

Question Trucks and cars have much in common mechanically as well as ancestrally. One link between them is the steam-powered fardier Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot, who built it in 1769. Unfortunately for him, steam trucks were not really common until the mid 1800's. While looking at this practically, it would be much harder to have a steam truck. This is mostly due to the fact that the roads of the time were built for horse and carriages. Steam trucks were left to very short hauls, usually from a factory to the nearest railway station. In 1881, the first semi-trailer appeared, and it was in fact towed by a steam tractor manufactured by De Dion-Bouton. Steam-powered trucks were sold in France and in the United States, apparently until the eve of World War I. Also, at the beginning of World War II in the United Kingdom, they were known as 'steam wagons'.

Question As most people have experienced, moving does involve having the appropriate materials. Some materials you might find at home or may be more resourceful to save money while others may choose to pay for everything. Either way materials such as boxes, paper, tape, and bubble wrap with which to pack box-able and/or protect fragile household goods. It is also used to consolidate the carrying and stacking on moving day. Self-service moving companies offer another viable option. It involves the person moving buying a space on one or more trailers or shipping containers. These containers are then professionally driven to the new location.

Question The Federal Bridge Law handles relations between the gross weight of the truck, the number of axles, and the spacing between them. This is how they determine is the truck can be on the Interstate Highway system. Each state gets to decide the maximum, under the Federal Bridge Law. They determine by vehicle in combination with axle weight on state and local roads

Question A moving scam is a scam by a moving company in which the company provides an estimate, loads the goods, then states a much higher price to deliver the goods, effectively holding the goods as lien but does this without do a change of order or revised estimate.

Question As we know in the trucking industry, some trailers are part of large trucks, which we call semi-trailer trucks for transportation of cargo. Trailers may also be used in a personal manner as well, whether for personal or small business purposes.

Question The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is a division of the USDOT specializing in highway transportation. The agency's major influential activities are generally separated into two different "programs". The first is the Federal-aid Highway Program. This provides financial aid to support the construction, maintenance, and operation of the U.S. highway network. The second program, the Federal Lands Highway Program, shares a similar name with different intentions. The purpose of this program is to improve transportation involving Federal and Tribal lands. They also focus on preserving "national treasures" for the historic and beatific enjoyment for all.

Question The USDOT (USDOT or DOT) is considered a federal Cabinet department within the U.S. government. Clearly, this department concerns itself with all aspects of transportation with safety as a focal point. The DOT was officially established by an act of Congress on October 15, 1966, beginning its operation on April 1, 1967. Superior to the DOT, the United States Secretary of Transportation governs the department. The mission of the DOT is to "Serve the United States by ensuring a fast, safe, efficient, accessible, and convenient transportation system that meets our vital national interests and enhances the quality of life for the American people, today and into the future." Essentially this states how important it is to improve all types of transportation as a way to enhance both safety and life in general etc. It is important to note that the DOT is not in place to hurt businesses, but to improve our "vital national interests" and our "quality of life". The transportation networks are in definite need of such fundamental attention. Federal departments such as the USDOT are key to this industry by creating and enforcing regulations with intentions to increase the efficiency and safety of transportation.

Question The American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHO) was organized and founded on December 12, 1914. On November 13, 1973, the name was altered to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. This slight change in name reflects a broadened scope of attention towards all modes of transportation. Despite the implications of the name change, most of the activities it is involved in still gravitate towards highways.

Question

A circumferential route refers to a public transportation system that follows the route in the shape of a circle. Over time a nickname developed in the European Union, calling transportation networks such as these a "ring road". This is no surprise as Europe has several famous "ring roads" such as the Berliner Ring, the Brussels Ring, the Amsterdam Ring, the Boulevard Périphérique around Paris and the Leeds Inner and Outer ring roads. Other countries adopted the term as well which in turn made the name go international. Australia's Melbourne's Western Ring Road and India's Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road both adopted the name. However in Canada, the term is most commonly used, with "orbital" used to a much lesser extent.

On the contrary, the United States calls many "ring roads" as belt-lines, beltways, or loops instead. For example, the Capital Beltway around Washington, D.C. Some ring roads use terminology such as "Inner Loop" and "Outer Loop". This is, of course, for the sake of directional sense, since compass directions cannot be determined around the entire loop.

Question In today's popular culture, recreational vehicles struggle to find their own niche. Travel trailers or mobile home with limited living facilities, or where people can camp or stay have been referred to as trailers. Previously, many would refer to such vehicles as towable trailers.

Question With the ending of World War I, several developments were made to enhance trucks. Such an example would be by putting pneumatic tires replaced the previously common full rubber versions. These advancements continued, including electric starters, power brakes, 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines. Closed cabs and electric lighting followed. The modern semi-trailer truck also debuted. Additionally, touring car builders such as Ford and Renault entered the heavy truck market.

Question The Department of Transportation (DOT) is the most common government agency that is devoted to transportation in the United States. The DOT is the largest United States agency with the sole purpose of overseeing interstate travel and issue's USDOT Number filing to new carriers. The U.S., Canadian provinces, and many other local agencies have a similar organization in place. This way they can provide enforcement through DOT officers within their respective jurisdictions.
