This was the WORST moving experience anyone could endure. Disrespect for you, for your belongings. The took a 1.5 hour job and played on their phones while ignoring us & the loading a truck parked directly in front a storage unit (very simple & basic one would think). 3.5 hours!!!! The unpacked / wrapped items and re-wrapped them with 200 circles of plastic around every one. They removed a yoga mat that was bungeeed around a table for protection, didn't protect the table again, but did roll the yoga mat up and wrap it 200 times with the plastic roll??!!?? Just one fine example of how they like to work. I cold go on & on & on & on & on..... but it makes me sick to think about them and how awful they are. DO NOT USE Green Apple Movers!

I have personal experience with knowing this company. They were acquired by All My Sons Moving company a bit over a year ago, they are paying to use the Graebel name. Why would they pay to use it, because their name has been damaged. They hire on contractors, who in turn hire their own crews. These crews mostly consist of illegal undocumented workers which they can pay less because it is under the table. Their is no incentive to work here. Graebel once had a good name, but with them no longer and a company like All My Sons, it will only be damaged further.

For those earlier pictures with damages on the boxes. I share your sentiment and I am sorry this happen to your boxes. Please remember to use ONLY IMEREX BOXES when shipping your items because they are a lot STRONGER QUALITY than the others , Can carry up to 220 lbs. The POOR QUALITY which are NOT IMEREX boxes has a tendency of breaking down hence the tear on the sides which a lot of times items a falling out of the boxes. when they are out for distribution in the Phils. Imerex Staff in Carson strapped them securely before loading them to Container to the Phils. When they arrived and unload these heavy boxes in IMEREX Manila Warehouse, they needed to be taped before they are delivered to the Receiver. . I havent had any problems with them.

Did miss a couple of items left behind in a closet. Could have done a better job of covering floors - especially between elevator and apartment (which was required). Fair to OK in flooring coverage in apartment but could have been better coverage in carpeted rooms.

I recently had to pack up and move from San Francisco to Denver for a new job opportunity. I looked for a moving company on Yelp and found Air1moving. From the first call I had a great experience with these guys. They were fair in their pricing, respectful, and punctual. They made the experience pleasant and easy. I recommend hiring them.

These people are awesome. They just have a 1 hr least not at all like most different movers which have a 3 hr least. On the off chance that you are moving inside of Boulder, this makes them in all probability your least expensive choice. They likewise are exceptionally effective, expert and inviting/kind.

This company seem to have perfect reviews on some of the shipping sites and no idea how that can be true. Have been trying to get something super simple done for 5 days so far and have gotten nowhere. Constantly have to call them and can't get a clear answer on a simple questions. Where and when will you pick up car and will you honor your word... Nothing. No do what you say, say what you do here.

So much damage it's unbelievable. The movers were exhausted and said it was their 3rd move. My leather couch is shredded on both ends. My dining table and Ashley bedroom set has dents, paint from for jams, and scrapes all over it. My bed is badly torn. The movers said they didn't have the proper equipment to move it. Calling the store they just said to email the pics which I did and to contact a hotline to fix my things. The movers said my things were already damaged like that. Never use this company! I'm going to put reviews everywhere and contact BBB. I've used movers several times and NEVER have I had my things destroyed like this!

Don’t Panic! What To Do If Your Moving Price Went Up

  • When the price you’re required to pay for moving services magically increases, it can feel stressful and make you want to panic.
  • There are a few valid reasons for a price going up, so it’s best to consider these before getting too upset.
  • Most commonly, this price increase is due to additional services being required or requested on moving day after the quote was issued.
  • If you need something extra that will incur an additional cost, your movers will always alert you as soon as possible and will require your signature.
  • When negotiating a new price with your movers, it’s best to keep a clear head and talk about the price increase rationally so that both sides come to an agreement amicably.

Relocate Like An Expert — While Keeping The Planet Healthy

  • Choose movers Colorado whose trucks run on bio-diesel fuel instead of normal diesel. This is a more gentle option which reduces the amount of pollution in the air.
  • A small step, like using soy-based ink while printing contracts rather than regular ink, can go a long way toward environmental conservation. Seek out moving companies in Colorado who are willing to take steps like these to a more sustainable planet.
  • Rather than the usual cardboard boxes that will junk up a garbage pile somewhere, buy (and even rent) some plastic storage boxes to transport your things. It's a little bit more pricey, but you're treating the environment (as well as your own possessions) better.
  • If you find yourself going the traditional route with cardboard boxes, please recycle them! That can mean taking them to a recycling center or reusing them in your home.

Decluttering Like A Pro: How To Get Rid of Your Junk

  • If you haven't used the item in the past year, it's clear that you don't need it.
  • Make a space for all the things you are discarding that is away from the things you intend to move with you.
  • Charities and churches can usually take your unwanted stuff as a donation.
  • If you want to get a few dollars back on your stuff, try to sell it (either online on Craigslist or eBay or have a yard sale.
  • Your local recycling center is an awesome resource for how to dispose of certain materials like glass and cardboard.

Movers and You: How to Make Moving the Best Possible Experience

  • Keep pets out of the way. Whether this means keeping your pet in a separate room, in a fenced-in backyard, or even having someone take your pet for the day of the move, this is a tremendous help to movers. Moving companies Colorado will want to work efficiently, and looking out for furry friends that might roam around will ultimately be a hindrance when the team wants to get work done.
  • Make sure kids are entertained. Moving with children is a hassle, and it can be difficult to keep them focused and out of the path of the movers, but this is crucial as not to impede the moving team.
  • Have a floor plan mapped out. If possible, create a guide on where you want your large furniture items so that when your movers place them inside your new home, every can be set in its correct place on the first try.
  • Keep an inventory. When you pack, you should make an inventory of all the things you’re putting into the boxes. Place a number on each box and keep a record of what goes into every box. This numbering system will not only help your movers discern a number of items to be moved but will also help you tremendously when unpacking and finding everything.
  • Have refreshments available. Moving is hard work. Professional movers work for hours, performing manual labor with only a few breaks. By providing some cold water, a few snacks, and a welcoming environment, you are going above and beyond for your movers, and they will appreciate it more than you know.
  • Don’t forget the gratuity. Many people often overlook tipping movers, as moving expenses are already so costly, but this is not what you should do! Your movers work all day to provide a high-quality level of service, and it’s only polite to give them a little something for their professionalism. How much is a suitable amount? Generally 5%-10% of the cost of the move, as stated in the contract.

Driver's licensing has coincided throughout the European Union in order to for the complex rules to all member states. Driving a vehicle weighing more than 7.5 tons (16,535 lb) for commercial purposes requires a certain license. This specialist licence type varies depending on the use of the vehicle and number of seat. Licences first acquired after 1997, the weight was reduced to 3,500 kilograms (7,716 lb), not including trailers.

In 1895 Karl Benz designed and built the first truck in history by using the internal combustion engine. Later that year some of Benz's trucks gave into modernization and went on to become the first bus by the Netphener. This would be the first motor bus company in history. Hardly a year later, in 1986, another internal combustion engine truck was built by a man named Gottlieb Daimler. As people began to catch on, other companies, such as Peugeot, Renault, and Bussing, also built their own versions. In 1899, the first truck in the United States was built by Autocar and was available with two optional horsepower motors, 5 or 8.

The trucking industry has made a large historical impact since the early 20th century. It has affected the U.S. both politically as well as economically since the notion has begun. Previous to the invention of automobiles, most freight was moved by train or horse-drawn carriage. Trucks were first exclusively used by the military during World War I.   After the war, construction of paved roads increased. As a result, trucking began to achieve significant popularity by the 1930's. Soon after trucking became subject to various government regulation, such as the hours of service. During the later 1950's and 1960's, trucking accelerated due to the construction of the Interstate Highway System. The Interstate Highway System is an extensive network of freeways linking major cities cross country.

The intention of a trailer coupler is to secure the trailer to the towing vehicle. It is an important piece, as the trailer couple attaches to the trailer ball. This then forms a ball and socket connection. It allows for relative movement between the towing vehicle and trailer while towing over uneven road surfaces. The trailer ball should be mounted to the rear bumper or to a drawbar, which may be removable. The drawbar secures to the trailer hitch by inserting it into the hitch receiver and pinning it.   The three most common types of couplers used are straight couplers, A-frame couplers, and adjustable couplers. Another option is bumper-pull hitches in which case draw bars can exert a large amount of leverage on the tow vehicle. This makes it harder to recover from a swerving situation (thus it may not be the safest choice depending on your trip).

In 2009, the book 'Trucking Country: The Road to America's Walmart Economy' debuted, written by author Shane Hamilton. This novel explores the interesting history of trucking and connects certain developments. Particularly how such development in the trucking industry have helped the so-called big-box stored. Examples of these would include Walmart or Target, they dominate the retail sector of the U.S. economy. Yet, Hamilton connects historical and present-day evidence that connects such correlations.

In the 20th century, the 1940 film "They Drive by Night" co-starred Humphrey Bogart. He plays an independent driver struggling to become financially stable and economically independent. This is all set during the times of the Great Depression. Yet another film was released in 1941, called "The Gang's All Here". It is a story of a trucking company that's been targeted by saboteurs.

Trucks of the era mostly used two-cylinder engines and had a carrying capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 kilograms (3,300 to 4,400 lb). In 1904, 700 heavy trucks were built in the United States, 1000 in 1907, 6000 in 1910, and 25000 in 1914. A Benz truck modified by Netphener company (1895)

During the latter part of the 20th century, we saw a decline of the trucking culture. Coinciding with this decline was a decline of the image of truck drivers, as they became negatively stigmatized. As a result of such negativity, it makes sense that truck drivers were frequently portrayed as the "bad guy(s)" in movies.

A semi-trailer is almost exactly what it sounds like, it is a trailer without a front axle. Proportionally, its weight is supported by two factors. The weight falls upon a road tractor or by a detachable front axle assembly, known as a dolly. Generally, a semi-trailer is equipped with legs, known in the industry as "landing gear". This means it can be lowered to support it when it is uncoupled. In the United States, a trailer may not exceed a length of 57 ft (17.37 m) on interstate highways. However, it is possible to link two smaller trailers together to reach a length of 63 ft (19.20 m).

AMSA wanted to help consumers avoid untrustworthy or illegitimate movers. In January 2008, AMSA created the ProMover certification program for its members. As a member, you must have federal interstate operating authority. Members are also required to pass an annual criminal back check, be licensed by the FMCSA, and agree to abide by ethical standards. This would include honesty in advertising and in business transaction with customers. Each must also sign a contract committing to adhere to applicable Surface Transportation Board and FMCSA regulations. AMSA also takes into consideration and examines ownership. They are very strict, registration with state corporation commissions. This means that the mover must maintain at least a satisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). As one can imagine, those that pass are authorized to display the ProMove logo on the websites and in marketing materials. However, those that fail will be expelled from the program (and AMSA) if they cannot correct discrepancies during probation.

In the United States, commercial truck classification is fixed by each vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). There are 8 commercial truck classes, ranging between 1 and 8. Trucks are also classified in a more broad way by the DOT's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The FHWA groups them together, determining classes 1-3 as light duty, 4-6 as medium duty, and 7-8 as heavy duty. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has its own separate system of emission classifications for commercial trucks. Similarly, the United States Census Bureau had assigned classifications of its own in its now-discontinued Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey (TIUS, formerly known as the Truck Inventory and Use Survey).

Public transportation is vital to a large part of society and is in dire need of work and attention. In 2010, the DOT awarded $742.5 million in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to 11 transit projects. The awardees specifically focused light rail projects. One includes both a commuter rail extension and a subway project in New York City. The public transportation New York City has to offer is in need of some TLC. Another is working on a rapid bus transit system in Springfield, Oregon. The funds also subsidize a heavy rail project in northern Virginia. This finally completes the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's Metro Silver Line, connecting to Washington, D.C., and the Washington Dulles International Airport. This is important because the DOT has previously agreed to subsidize the Silver Line construction to Reston, Virginia.

DOT officers of each state are generally in charge of the enforcement of the Hours of Service (HOS). These are sometimes checked when CMVs pass through weigh stations. Drivers found to be in violation of the HOS can be forced to stop driving for a certain period of time. This, in turn, may negatively affect the motor carrier's safety rating. Requests to change the HOS are a source of debate. Unfortunately, many surveys indicate drivers routinely get away with violating the HOS. Such facts have started yet another debate on whether motor carriers should be required to us EOBRs in their vehicles. Relying on paper-based log books does not always seem to enforce the HOS law put in place for the safety of everyone.

Logistics is generally the ability to organize and put in place many complex operations at a single time. It is the management of the flow of things to meet the needs of customers or corporations. Resources managed in logistics includes tangible items such as food, materials, animals, equipment, etc. Not to mention the items that are not tangible such as time and information. This means that the movement of physical items, such as in the moving industry, involves a clear understanding of solid workflow. Such logistics can involve the handling of necessary materials, producing, packaging, inventory, transportation, warehousing, and often security.

The USDOT (USDOT or DOT) is considered a federal Cabinet department within the U.S. government. Clearly, this department concerns itself with all aspects of transportation with safety as a focal point. The DOT was officially established by an act of Congress on October 15, 1966, beginning its operation on April 1, 1967. Superior to the DOT, the United States Secretary of Transportation governs the department. The mission of the DOT is to "Serve the United States by ensuring a fast, safe, efficient, accessible, and convenient transportation system that meets our vital national interests and enhances the quality of life for the American people, today and into the future." Essentially this states how important it is to improve all types of transportation as a way to enhance both safety and life in general etc. It is important to note that the DOT is not in place to hurt businesses, but to improve our "vital national interests" and our "quality of life". The transportation networks are in definite need of such fundamental attention. Federal departments such as the USDOT are key to this industry by creating and enforcing regulations with intentions to increase the efficiency and safety of transportation.

Unfortunately for the trucking industry, their image began to crumble during the latter part of the 20th century. As a result, their reputation suffered. More recently truckers have been portrayed as chauvinists or even worse, serial killers. The portrayals of semi-trailer trucks have focused on stories of the trucks becoming self-aware. Generally, this is with some extraterrestrial help.

The most basic purpose of a trailer jack is to lift the trailer to a height that allows the trailer to hitch or unhitch to and from the towing vehicle. Trailer jacks may also be used for the leveling of the trailer during storage. To list a few common types of trailer jacks are A-frame jacks, swivel jacks, and drop-leg jacks. Other trailers, such as horse trailers, have a built-in jack at the tongue for this purpose.

A Ministry of Transport (or) Transportation is responsible for transportation within a country. Administration usually falls upon the Minister for Transport. The term may also be applied to the departments or other government agencies administering transport in a nation who do not use ministers. There are various and vast responsibilities for agencies to oversee such as road safety. Others may include civil aviation, maritime transport, rail transport and so on. They continue to develop government transportation policy and organize public transit. All while trying to maintain and construct infrastructural projects. Some ministries have additional responsibilities in related policy areas as mentioned above.

In the United States and Canada, the cost for long-distance moves is generally determined by a few factors. The first is the weight of the items to be moved and the distance it will go. Cost is also based on how quickly the items are to be moved, as well as the time of the year or month which the move occurs. In the United Kingdom and Australia, it's quite different. They base price on the volume of the items as opposed to their weight. Keep in mind some movers may offer flat rate pricing.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) is the most common government agency that is devoted to transportation in the United States. The DOT is the largest United States agency with the sole purpose of overseeing interstate travel and issue's USDOT Number filing to new carriers. The U.S., Canadian provinces, and many other local agencies have a similar organization in place. This way they can provide enforcement through DOT officers within their respective jurisdictions.
