I would like to give the 0 star if there exists this option. Please never ever consider using this moving company as below reasons. On the date they pick up my things on June 14th, the door-mans insist on increasing the money from my original quote even I had few items compared to the original quote. Then I could not contact the company for the delivery confirmation. I am been told the same excuse for the whole week after one month of picking up date that they do not know where are my stuff. Only the driver of the truck knew it but they do not know the status of the driver. They kept me waiting until the date before my original delivery date, suddenly I am told that my stuff won't be delivered until 10 more dates later. Also I am been told I could not file a complaint because there is no guaranteed delivered date. It is the common case that delivery will be delayed. If you could be considerate and nice to tell me this bad news several days earlier than my original delivery date instead of the day right before it, I will have some time to prepare for this unexpected situation. Now I have no bed to sleep in. >.< Can not believe they have such slow efficiency to deal with the customer's request/question. I do not believe that they do not have a way to contact the driver in the entire week (>144 hrs). I think it is just thier excuse to keep me waiting!!!! After hundreds of calls and emails and left a bad review on another website, I finally got the contact information from the Driver this morning. Keep waiting for my stuff. I will report any updated information. Believe in me. Please never even considers using this Company!!!! Otherwise, your life will become a mess for a long period of time. You will struggle with them and wasted a lot of time.

Worst moving company ever! Seriously, I've never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. No matter how great or cheap they sound this is a warning NOT to use this company! Since the movers arrived at my home over one month ago (June 26th) it has been one issue after another with this company. My husband and I call the office every single day to check on the status of our move. Every single day we're given a response that the dispatch office has closed or that they need to check with dispatch and get back to us. They NEVER do. They have never given us an update on our things. We moved from California to Florida with our two small children who have been sleeping on air mattresses for the past month and have none of their items from home due to this company. We're having to spend a lot of extra money to repurchase items we already own but need to make our empty house in Florida semi-comfortable for our 6-year-old and 1-year-old. I'm seriously concerned that this company has either lost our things or they've stolen it. We have been flat out lied to, ignored after we made several attempts to contact their office, and misquoted by their sales staff in a deceiving effort to obtain our business in a bait and switch scheme. This company literally never has answers to our questions and no Manager or CEO to escalate things too. They claim that their CEO's name is Nick Chambers and have provided false contact information for him. We've called him, emailed him, and texted him over the last month and have not received one call back or returned message.

Trucks of the era mostly used two-cylinder engines and had a carrying capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 kilograms (3,300 to 4,400 lb). In 1904, 700 heavy trucks were built in the United States, 1000 in 1907, 6000 in 1910, and 25000 in 1914. A Benz truck modified by Netphener company (1895)
Many modern trucks are powered by diesel engines, although small to medium size trucks with gas engines exist in the United States. The European Union rules that vehicles with a gross combination of mass up to 3,500 kg (7,716 lb) are also known as light commercial vehicles. Any vehicles exceeding that weight are known as large goods vehicles.
Advocation for better transportation began historically in the late 1870s of the United States. This is when the Good Roads Movement first occurred, lasting all the way throughout the 1920s. Bicyclist leaders advocated for improved roads. Their acts led to the turning of local agitation into the national political movement it became.
The FMCSA has established rules to maintain and regulate the safety of the trucking industry. According to FMCSA rules, driving a goods-carrying CMV more than 11 hours or to drive after having been on duty for 14 hours, is illegal. Due to such heavy driving, they need a break to complete other tasks such as loading and unloading cargo, stopping for gas and other required vehicle inspections, as well as non-working duties such as meal and rest breaks. The 3-hour difference between the 11-hour driving limit and 14 hour on-duty limit gives drivers time to take care of such duties. In addition, after completing an 11 to 14 hour on duty period, the driver much be allowed 10 hours off-duty.
In 1991 the film "Thelma & Louise" premiered, rapidly becoming a well known movie. Throughout the movie, a dirty and abrasive truck driver harasses the two women during chance encounters. Author Michael Dunne describes this minor character as "fat and ignorant" and "a lustful fool blinded by a delusion of male superiority". Thelma and Louise exact their revenge by feigning interest in him and then blowing up his tanker truck full of gas.
The Federal-Aid Highway Amendments of 1974 established a federal maximum gross vehicle weight of 80,000 pounds (36,000 kg). It also introduced a sliding scale of truck weight-to-length ratios based on the bridge formula. Although, they did not establish a federal minimum weight limit. By failing to establish a federal regulation, six contiguous in the Mississippi Valley rebelled. Becoming known as the "barrier state", they refused to increase their Interstate weight limits to 80,000 pounds. Due to this, the trucking industry faced a barrier to efficient cross-country interstate commerce.
Some trailers can be towed by an accessible pickup truck or van, which generally need no special permit beyond a regular license. Such examples would be enclosed toy trailers and motorcycle trailers. Specialized trailers like an open-air motorcycle trailer and bicycle trailers are accessible. Some trailers are much more accessible to small automobiles, as are some simple trailers pulled by a drawbar and riding on a single set of axles. Other trailers also have a variety, such as a utility trailer, travel trailers or campers, etc. to allow for varying sizes of tow vehicles.
A Ministry of Transport (or) Transportation is responsible for transportation within a country. Administration usually falls upon the Minister for Transport. The term may also be applied to the departments or other government agencies administering transport in a nation who do not use ministers. There are various and vast responsibilities for agencies to oversee such as road safety. Others may include civil aviation, maritime transport, rail transport and so on. They continue to develop government transportation policy and organize public transit. All while trying to maintain and construct infrastructural projects. Some ministries have additional responsibilities in related policy areas as mentioned above.
