Amazing moving company! They made a potentially stressful event seem seamless. Kind, courteous, and efficient, despite us having some very large items in very tight spaces. I kept thinking a wall was going to get scratched or they would tell me they couldn't do it. But each time they figured out the perfect way to get it done. Very thorough. If you are moving in Greensboro remember they are insured and workers are background checked. They DON'T charge according to time and their prices are likely best around for quality. Oh, huge time saver - Little Guys allows you to keep your clothes in the drawers!! Best of all, they did it all with a smile! Thank you George and Aaron! You guys rock!

I would not work with them once more. The genuine movers were fine and speedy in spite of the fact that the foreordained conveyance date was over a week than what was examined, both on the telephone and amid the move. While tending to the postponement on the telephone, the lady I talked with was conceited and not open to exchange.

Incredible experience from the main call to get an assessment to the real move. To a great degree prompt dedicated and inviting took care of furniture extremely cautious and didn't squander time by any stretch of the imagination. They were extremely affable and exceptionally supportive while moving everything. The greater part of my things made it to my new residence protected and sound. Would utilize them once more!

Justin, our assessor, made a brilliant showing. He was exceptionally proficient and permitted us to shadow him and pointed out any issues and in addition positive things. While watching Justin perform the review I was extremely certain that any conceivable issues with the home have been revealed. As a reward Justin likewise filled us in on a few positive parts of the house. It was clear that Justin knew precisely what he was doing and I am sure that we won't have any astonishments when we move in.

In February 2015 my wife and I hired Two Marines Moving for our local move to our new home in Springfield. We were quite pleased with the Two Marines Moving's crew professionalism and care during the 2015 move. We are remodeling our Springfield home and needed the refrigerator and gas range moved to the garage along with several items moved up from the basement, so we chose Two Marines Moving based on our previous experience. That was a terrible mistake. We will not hire Two Marines again, and recommend to our friends that they chose another mover when the need arises. I scheduled a 2 p.m. appointment. The crew arrived at 2:57 p.m. I understand delays, and your firm called me at 2:27 p.m. and advised me that the crew would arrive in a few minutes. The crew brought an appliance dolly with which to move the refrigerator and range. The refrigerator's size requires one individual to steer and one to guide. The crew members clearly were unfamiliar with the proper use of an appliance dolly. They placed the load strap over the refrigerator handles. I stopped them and advised them that placing the load strap over the handles would likely bend the handles. They reconfigured the load strap under the handles. I have relocated many times since 1977, moving myself nearly every time, and used an appliance dolly literally hundreds of times to move appliances and other furniture. The first rule of appliance dolly safety- the strap must be as tight as possible. The second rule- always walk the appliance dolly down the steps, never walk a dolly with the appliance up higher than the user. Never. Yesterday your crew broke these rules repeatedly, endangering their personal safety. The crew did not examine the refrigerator interior before moving the unit, nor did they examine the top of the refrigerator before tilting it on the dolly, as the refrigerator top stood above eye level. I had emptied the refrigerator and cleared the top, but the appliance mover has a duty to check these items before moving any appliance. The path from the kitchen to the garage required the movers to lower the appliance down two steps into the family room and through a sliding door, onto a patio, and then walk the dolly to the garage. The crew placed the refrigerator on the dolly, and one crew member proceeded to lead the dolly down the steps. The refrigerator, a GE Model # GFE29HSDSS, weights 390 pounds! The crew member nearly lost the refrigerator as in the down position all the weight was on his arms. He bounced the refrigerator down both steps! When moving the range they did the same, except this time they did not tighten the load strap securely, and again they bounced the range down the steps. This time, however, the range lifted with the load strap slack and the range side landed on the appliance dolly steel lip, badly denting the side of the range.

Subsequent to perusing their horrendous surveys, I was somewhat reluctant to dispatch our stuff from San Diego to Hawaii with them. Be that as it may, I didn't generally have a decision since it was pre-masterminded with the military. So I reported all that we sent and sought after the best. From the earliest starting point, they were extraordinary to work with. They called when they said they would, arrived when they said they would, pressed up our stuff like they said they would and dispatched it like they said they would. We got everything in Hawaii and nothing was broken! Doesn't show signs of improvement than that.

I required a mover to move me from Scottsdale to Chandler. They accompanied right size truck 26' and 3 men and were snappy for measure of furniture I had. Just thing negative would they say they was enjoyed a lunch reprieve on route to my new home on my dime?! I'm as of now paying travel time so not genuine cheerful about that. Move truly was uneventful and aggregate of near 5 hrs. Sufficiently reasonable. At that point came the issues!! One of the men they sent apparently just escaped jail after a LONG extend Gun running conviction. That gentleman appeared at my entryway at 2am slamming to give him access. I let him know through the way to clear out. He attempted to scale the wall to my back passageway as I was on telephone with 911. Various police arrived however he saw them swarming parking area and had run. Over hour later police found and captured him! I called Amazing movers and yes, he knew he was an as of late discharged convict. He thought he'd offer him a reprieve cuz he knew his cousin!!!! You don't send convicts/criminals to individuals' homes!!! We are then their casualty! Proprietor said "not his flaw, he wasn't on the clock when this laborer attempted to mislead me". Chandler Police had a visit to Amazing Movers and whatever they could do is caution him.

As of January 1, 2000, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) was established as its own separate administration within the U.S. Department of Transportation. This came about under the "Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999". The FMCSA is based in Washington, D.C., employing more than 1,000 people throughout all 50 States, including in the District of Columbia. Their staff dedicates themselves to the improvement of safety among commercial motor vehicles (CMV) and to saving lives.

A boat trailer is a trailer designed to launch, retrieve, carry and sometimes store boats.

The trucking industry has made a large historical impact since the early 20th century. It has affected the U.S. both politically as well as economically since the notion has begun. Previous to the invention of automobiles, most freight was moved by train or horse-drawn carriage. Trucks were first exclusively used by the military during World War I.   After the war, construction of paved roads increased. As a result, trucking began to achieve significant popularity by the 1930's. Soon after trucking became subject to various government regulation, such as the hours of service. During the later 1950's and 1960's, trucking accelerated due to the construction of the Interstate Highway System. The Interstate Highway System is an extensive network of freeways linking major cities cross country.

With the partial deregulation of the trucking industry in 1980 by the Motor Carrier Act, trucking companies increased. The workforce was drastically de-unionized. As a result, drivers received a lower pay overall. Losing its spotlight in the popular culture, trucking had become less intimate as some unspoken competition broke out. However, the deregulation only increased the competition and productivity with the trucking industry as a whole. This was beneficial to the America consumer by reducing costs. In 1982 the Surface Transportation Assistance Act established a federal minimum truck weight limits. Thus, trucks were finally standardized truck size and weight limits across the country. This was also put in to place so that across country traffic on the Interstate Highways resolved the issue of the 'barrier states'.

“The association of truckers with cowboys and related myths was perhaps most obvious during the urban-cowboy craze of the late 1970s, a period that saw middle-class urbanites wearing cowboy clothing and patronizing simulated cowboy nightclubs. During this time, at least four truck driver movies appeared, CB radio became popular, and truck drivers were prominently featured in all forms of popular media.” — Lawrence J. Ouellet

In 1971, author and director Steven Spielberg, debuted his first feature length film. His made-for-tv film, Duel, portrayed a truck driver as an anonymous stalker. Apparently there seems to be a trend in the 70's to negatively stigmatize truck drivers.

Invented in 1890, the diesel engine was not an invention that became well known in popular culture. It was not until the 1930's for the United States to express further interest for diesel engines to be accepted. Gasoline engines were still in use on heavy trucks in the 1970's, while in Europe they had been entirely replaced two decades earlier.

In 1978 Sylvester Stallone starred in the film "F.I.S.T.". The story is loosely based on the 'Teamsters Union'. This union is a labor union which includes truck drivers as well as its then president, Jimmy Hoffa.

The year 1611 marked an important time for trucks, as that is when the word originated. The usage of "truck" referred to the small strong wheels on ships' cannon carriages. Further extending its usage in 1771, it came to refer to carts for carrying heavy loads. In 1916 it became shortened, calling it a "motor truck". While since the 1930's its expanded application goes as far as to say "motor-powered load carrier".

In some states, a business route is designated by adding the letter "B" after the number instead of placing a "Business" sign above it. For example, Arkansas signs US business route 71 as "US 71B". On some route shields and road signs, the word "business" is shortened to just "BUS". This abbreviation is rare and usually avoided to prevent confusion with bus routes.

Public transportation is vital to a large part of society and is in dire need of work and attention. In 2010, the DOT awarded $742.5 million in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to 11 transit projects. The awardees specifically focused light rail projects. One includes both a commuter rail extension and a subway project in New York City. The public transportation New York City has to offer is in need of some TLC. Another is working on a rapid bus transit system in Springfield, Oregon. The funds also subsidize a heavy rail project in northern Virginia. This finally completes the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's Metro Silver Line, connecting to Washington, D.C., and the Washington Dulles International Airport. This is important because the DOT has previously agreed to subsidize the Silver Line construction to Reston, Virginia.

Relocation, or moving, is the process of vacating a fixed location, such as a residence or business, and settling in a different one. A move might be to a nearby location such as in the same neighborhood or a much farther location in a different city or even a different country. Moving usually includes packing up all belongings, transferring them to the new location, and unpacking them. It will also be necessary to update administrative information. This includes tasks such as notifying the post office, changing registration data, change of insurance, services etc. It is important to remember this step in the relocation process.

The USDOT (USDOT or DOT) is considered a federal Cabinet department within the U.S. government. Clearly, this department concerns itself with all aspects of transportation with safety as a focal point. The DOT was officially established by an act of Congress on October 15, 1966, beginning its operation on April 1, 1967. Superior to the DOT, the United States Secretary of Transportation governs the department. The mission of the DOT is to "Serve the United States by ensuring a fast, safe, efficient, accessible, and convenient transportation system that meets our vital national interests and enhances the quality of life for the American people, today and into the future." Essentially this states how important it is to improve all types of transportation as a way to enhance both safety and life in general etc. It is important to note that the DOT is not in place to hurt businesses, but to improve our "vital national interests" and our "quality of life". The transportation networks are in definite need of such fundamental attention. Federal departments such as the USDOT are key to this industry by creating and enforcing regulations with intentions to increase the efficiency and safety of transportation.

Although there are exceptions, city routes are interestingly most often found in the Midwestern area of the United States. Though they essentially serve the same purpose as business routes, they are different. They feature "CITY" signs as opposed to "BUSINESS" signs above or below route shields. Many of these city routes are becoming irrelevant for today's transportation. Due to this, they are being eliminated in favor of the business route designation.

Throughout the United States, bypass routes are a special type of route most commonly used on an alternative routing of a highway around a town. Specifically when the main route of the highway goes through the town. Originally, these routes were designated as "truck routes" as a means to divert trucking traffic away from towns. However, this name was later changed by AASHTO in 1959 to what we now call a "bypass". Many "truck routes" continue to remain regardless that the mainline of the highway prohibits trucks.

With the onset of trucking culture, truck drivers often became portrayed as protagonists in popular media. Author Shane Hamilton, who wrote "Trucking Country: The Road to America's Wal-Mart Economy", focuses on truck driving. He explores the history of trucking and while connecting it development in the trucking industry. It is important to note, as Hamilton discusses the trucking industry and how it helps the so-called big-box stores dominate the U.S. marketplace. Hamilton certainly takes an interesting perspective historically speaking.

In today's popular culture, recreational vehicles struggle to find their own niche. Travel trailers or mobile home with limited living facilities, or where people can camp or stay have been referred to as trailers. Previously, many would refer to such vehicles as towable trailers.

The industry intends to both consumers as well as moving companies, this is why there are Ministers of Transportation in the industry. They are there to set and maintain laws and regulations in place to create a safer environment. It offers its members professional service training and states the time that movers have been in existence. It also provides them with federal government representation and statistical industry reporting. Additionally, there are arbitration services for lost or damaged claims, publications, public relations, and annual tariff updates and awards. This site includes articles as well that give some direction, a quarterly data summary, and industry trends.

Known as a truck in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, it is essentially a motor vehicle designed to transport cargo. Otherwise known as a lorry in the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, and Indian Subcontinent. Trucks vary not only in their types, but also in size, power, and configuration, the smallest being mechanically like an automobile. Commercial trucks may be very large and powerful, configured to mount specialized equipment. These are necessary in the case of fire trucks, concrete mixers, and suction excavators etc.
