When they came to pick up our items, my brand new cell phone was stolen from my home! After I told them, they did an "investigation" but just told us that their employees said they did not take it and left it there. We are 100% sure it was taken by the movers. It is a shame this happened because we were going to recommend them originally.

This company was very unprofessional, and my apartment complex has to use them for moving services. A lot of people things went missing. On top of that my 40 inch TV and dryer was broken during the move. I made the initial contact with the company in mid November to see what I needed to do. On November 21st 2016 I sent the fax of what I needed to send. 2 weeks later I called about it and they told me that they didn't receive it. I then did everything by e-mail by mid December and I was told that the claims adjuster would be in the following week. I called the following week now he won't be in until the following week, and I'm so frustrated with these people. So next week I'm just going to take a trip over there with my broken TV and just give it to them.

We shipped an antique--old ship's wheel table--just wrapped in blankets. The item arrived without damage and Rick communicated with us the whole time regarding the status of the shipment. We are grateful for his professionalism and recommend this person to anyone who is nervous about shipping delicate items.

The primary concern is that only two of their packers spared my turn! Packers from another organization quit and these two women spared the day by completing in front of timetable even after a poor start (which wasn't their flaw). Awesome hard working attitude and well disposed, they would be my first decision on the off chance that I ever move back to the territory.

Awful, shocking background with these folks. I won't dive into every one of the points of interest, yet I would by no means trust them with anything fragile or important. Wish I could append a photo to demonstrat to you the employment they did stacking our family unit things from our carport into our compartment. As far as we can tell, put gently, these folks are heedless and discourteous. Furthermore, via telephone I was cited a rate of $79/hour for two movers. When we got the bill, we were charged that sum, in addition to charged a fuel extra charge of $25 (despite the fact that they were essentially stacking our holder from our carport and not driving it anyplace), in addition to they charged us for "travel time" of 45 minutes. When I called the proprietor to get some information about all these extra charges that hadn't been uncovered in advance, one of the movers yelled at me that "my time is significant" and after that debilitated to call the police. My wife and two youngsters couldn't accept what we were hearing. I've never had that sort of involvement with a moving moving company some time recently.

I as of late had a long separation move and having moved a few times in the past this was unquestionably the best experience I have ever had. The folks regarded my things as their own. Not one bit of furniture, crystal, dishes, or collectible were broken which I have had happen commonly previously. These folks demonstrated such pride and care with wrapping of every one of my possessions to secure them on their adventure to their new house. Their polished skill was crazy, fast and proficient - you can tell they truly appreciate what they do. Nothing was asking to much from them - I can be a little OCD with my things and the arrangement of where I need everything. They demonstrated to me compelling tolerance with the emptying of everything into my new house and precisely where I needed things to go. Much obliged Movebright!! (Exceptional on account of Dwayne and the team)

I was completely inspired with the administration that Rob gave - at a small amount of cost I was anticipating. The entrepreneur was exceptionally proficient and truly appeared like he thought about my experience, also he took astonishing consideration of my furniture. He ensured everything was wrapped deliberately to shield from scratching and was convenient, thoughtful and a delight to work with. I exceedingly prescribe Rob and love that he is a little neighborhood business. Additionally, the workmanship on his truck is exquisite, only an or more.

I have moved a couple times and don't have the foggiest idea about an organization I would prescribe, yet Joe with Father and Son attempted to make it right. I was cited a cost, however when the movers got to the house, they all of a sudden got the workplace supervisor on the telephone who cited a higher cost and declined to begin emptying the truck unless forked over all required funds, down to the last cent. I was not told this tenet when booking them. We paid. They moved everything. Nothing irregular, no bugs that we don't saw anything, discovered broken yet, nothing absent. The issue happened when I called the workplace the following day to get a receipt. The receipt faxed to me was the first cost, however we overpaid by $100 on account of the telephone call cost. I talked with Joe, the proprietor, who discounted the cash I overpaid. Would I prescribe this company....maybe. Moving will be moving. Unless you pay for white glove administration, you take what you can get. Joe making it right is the most compelling motivation for my 3 stars. On the off chance that the folks that work there are shady, at any rate the proprietor fixes it.

We moved from Charlotte to Indian Land throughout a while. We moved the majority of the littler and delicate things ourselves however needed experts to manage the extensive, overwhelming things. We got various quote and these folks were by a long shot the best value, which I will concede stressed me a yet. Nonetheless, the 3 man team appeared on time, proficiently stacked every one of the things and even helped my spouse move a treadmill that we were offering over the house for simpler development later. At the destination, they precisely moved all furniture into spot and moved a current washer dryer from the second story to the storm cellar. We couldn't have been more content with their administration. They were just around 15 minutes over their assessed time yet that was for the most part because of the additional help with the treadmill. We would utilize them again for furniture moves!

Whoever is renting a truck or trailer large enough to carry their household goods may obtain moving equipment if necessary. A boat trailer is a trailer designed to launch, retrieve, carry and sometimes store boats.

In the United States, shipments larger than about 7,000 kg (15,432 lb) are classified as truckload freight (TL). It is more efficient and affordable for a large shipment to have exclusive use of one larger trailer. This is opposed to having to share space on a smaller Less than Truckload freight carrier.

With the partial deregulation of the trucking industry in 1980 by the Motor Carrier Act, trucking companies increased. The workforce was drastically de-unionized. As a result, drivers received a lower pay overall. Losing its spotlight in the popular culture, trucking had become less intimate as some unspoken competition broke out. However, the deregulation only increased the competition and productivity with the trucking industry as a whole. This was beneficial to the America consumer by reducing costs. In 1982 the Surface Transportation Assistance Act established a federal minimum truck weight limits. Thus, trucks were finally standardized truck size and weight limits across the country. This was also put in to place so that across country traffic on the Interstate Highways resolved the issue of the 'barrier states'.

In 1978 Sylvester Stallone starred in the film "F.I.S.T.". The story is loosely based on the 'Teamsters Union'. This union is a labor union which includes truck drivers as well as its then president, Jimmy Hoffa.

There are certain characteristics of a truck that makes it an "off-road truck". They generally standard, extra heavy-duty highway-legal trucks. Although legal, they have off-road features like front driving axle and special tires for applying it to tasks such as logging and construction. The purpose-built off-road vehicles are unconstrained by weighing limits, such as the Libherr T 282B mining truck.

The United States Department of Transportation has become a fundamental necessity in the moving industry. It is the pinnacle of the industry, creating and enforcing regulations for the sake of safety for both businesses and consumers alike. However, it is notable to appreciate the history of such a powerful department. The functions currently performed by the DOT were once enforced by the Secretary of Commerce for Transportation. In 1965, Najeeb Halaby, administrator of the Federal Aviation Adminstration (FAA), had an excellent suggestion. He spoke to the current President Lyndon B. Johnson, advising that transportation be elevated to a cabinet level position. He continued, suggesting that the FAA be folded or merged, if you will, into the DOT. Clearly, the President took to Halaby's fresh ideas regarding transportation, thus putting the DOT into place.

As of January 1, 2000, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) was established as its own separate administration within the U.S. Department of Transportation. This came about under the "Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999". The FMCSA is based in Washington, D.C., employing more than 1,000 people throughout all 50 States, including in the District of Columbia. Their staff dedicates themselves to the improvement of safety among commercial motor vehicles (CMV) and to saving lives.

A properly fitted close-coupled trailer is fitted with a rigid tow bar. It then projects from its front and hooks onto a hook on the tractor. It is important to not that it does not pivot as a draw bar does.

As the American Interstate Highway System began to expand in the 1950's, the trucking industry began to take over a large market share. That is, a large share of the transportation of goods throughout the country. Before this era, trains had been relied on to transport the bulk of the goods cross country or state to state. The Interstate Highway System was influential as it allows for merchandise to travel door to door with ease. Since then, truckload carriers have taken advantage of the interstate system, especially when performing a long distance move. Typically, they bring the merchandise from one distribution center of the country to another part of the country. The increase in truckload freight transportation has reduced the time it takes to transport the goods. Whether the freight was manufactured or produced for the different areas internationally, the time it takes to transport goods has decreased dramatically.

Logistics is generally the ability to organize and put in place many complex operations at a single time. It is the management of the flow of things to meet the needs of customers or corporations. Resources managed in logistics includes tangible items such as food, materials, animals, equipment, etc. Not to mention the items that are not tangible such as time and information. This means that the movement of physical items, such as in the moving industry, involves a clear understanding of solid workflow. Such logistics can involve the handling of necessary materials, producing, packaging, inventory, transportation, warehousing, and often security.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is a division of the USDOT specializing in highway transportation. The agency's major influential activities are generally separated into two different "programs". The first is the Federal-aid Highway Program. This provides financial aid to support the construction, maintenance, and operation of the U.S. highway network. The second program, the Federal Lands Highway Program, shares a similar name with different intentions. The purpose of this program is to improve transportation involving Federal and Tribal lands. They also focus on preserving "national treasures" for the historic and beatific enjoyment for all.

The American Association of State Highway Officials (AASHO) was organized and founded on December 12, 1914. On November 13, 1973, the name was altered to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. This slight change in name reflects a broadened scope of attention towards all modes of transportation. Despite the implications of the name change, most of the activities it is involved in still gravitate towards highways.

The concept of a bypass is a simple one. It is a road or highway that purposely avoids or "bypasses" a built-up area, town, or village. Bypasses were created with the intent to let through traffic flow without having to get stuck in local traffic. In general they are supposed to reduce congestion in a built-up area. By doing so, road safety will greatly improve.   A bypass designated for trucks traveling a long distance, either commercial or otherwise, is called a truck route.

The year of 1977 marked the release of the infamous Smokey and the Bandit. It went on to be the third highest grossing film that year, following tough competitors like Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Burt Reynolds plays the protagonist, or "The Bandit", who escorts "The Snowman" in order to deliver bootleg beer. Reynolds once stated he envisioned trucking as a "hedonistic joyride entirely devoid from economic reality"   Another action film in 1977 also focused on truck drivers, as was the trend it seems. Breaker! Breaker! starring infamous Chuck Norris also focused on truck drivers. They were also displaying movie posters with the catch phrase "... he's got a CB radio and a hundred friends who just might get mad!"

Smoke and the Bandit was released in 1977, becoming the third-highest grossing movie. Following only behind Star Wars Episode IV and Close Encounter of the Third Kind, all three movies making an impact on popular culture. Conveniently, during that same year, CB Bears debuted as well. The Saturday morning cartoon features mystery-solving bears who communicate by CB radio. As the 1970's decade began to end and the 80's broke through, the trucking phenomenon had wade. With the rise of cellular phone technology, the CB radio was no longer popular with passenger vehicles, but, truck drivers still use it today.

1941 was a tough era to live through. Yet, President Roosevelt appointed a special committee to explore the idea of a "national inter-regional highway" system. Unfortunately, the committee's progress came to a halt with the rise of the World War II. After the war was over, the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1944 authorized the designation of what are not termed 'Interstate Highways'. However, he did not include any funding program to build such highways. With limited resources came limited progress until President Dwight D. Eisenhower came along in 1954. He renewed interest in the 1954 plan. Although, this began and long and bitter debate between various interests. Generally, the opposing sides were considering where such funding would come from such as rail, truck, tire, oil, and farm groups. All who would overpay for the new highways and how.

In today's popular culture, recreational vehicles struggle to find their own niche. Travel trailers or mobile home with limited living facilities, or where people can camp or stay have been referred to as trailers. Previously, many would refer to such vehicles as towable trailers.

A Ministry of Transport (or) Transportation is responsible for transportation within a country. Administration usually falls upon the Minister for Transport. The term may also be applied to the departments or other government agencies administering transport in a nation who do not use ministers. There are various and vast responsibilities for agencies to oversee such as road safety. Others may include civil aviation, maritime transport, rail transport and so on. They continue to develop government transportation policy and organize public transit. All while trying to maintain and construct infrastructural projects. Some ministries have additional responsibilities in related policy areas as mentioned above.

In today's society, there are rules and regulations everywhere you go, the same goes for commercial vehicles. The federal government has strict regulations that must be met, such as how many hours a driver may be on the clock. For example, 11 hours driving /14 hours on-duty followed by 10 hours off, with a max of 70 hours/8 days or 60 hours/7 days. They can also set rules deciding how much rest and sleep time is required, however, these are only a couple of regulations set. Any violations are often subject to harsh penalties. In some cases, there are instruments to track each driver's hours, which are becoming more necessary.
