I initially identifies with the chief at LTDE. He cited me an aggregate cost to move my articles to Puerto Rico, which I consented to pay. The day preceding the booked get, I was reached by this director who let me know he would require an extra $200.00 to do the get. I was irate. This was a work of art "lure and switch" and was extremely amateurish. Since I was planned to leave the range inside of days, there was essentially insufficient time for me to orchestrate a get with another mover. I was in a corner and was compelled to pay a higher cost. I was additionally told by this supervisor that my articles would be delivered to PR by 11-30-07.

After the get of my Articles, I saw (sometime later) that this chief neglected to rundown every one of my articles on the Packing List he gave me. I reached this director the exact following day and asked for a changed PL. He said that he would fax it to me that day. He didn't. From that point forward, I have reached this Manager and/or his secretary AT LEAST 10 distinct times about the corrected PL. Every time, I have been informed that the corrected PL will be sent and/or faxed to me. To date, I have not got it.

I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE STATUS OF ALL MY ARTICLES, which I have yet to get. I sent a confirmed letter to the President of LTDE asking for that he give me a revised PL alongside a date when my Articles will be dispatched to me in PR and a composed assurance from him that ALL MY Articles WILL BE DELIVERED TO ME COMPLETE AND IN GOOD CONDITION. To date, I have gotten no reaction from this moving company.

QuestionThe main purpose of the HOS regulation is to prevent accidents due to driver fatigue. To do this, the number of driving hours per day, as well as the number of driving hours per week, havebeen limited.Another measure to prevent fatigue is to keep drivers on a 21 to 24-hour schedulein order tomaintain a natural sleep/wake cycle. Drivers must take a dailyminimumperiod of rest andare allowedlonger "weekend" rest periods. This is in hopes to combat cumulative fatigue effects thataccrueon a weekly basis.

QuestionIn 1893, the Office of Road Inquiry (ORI)was establishedas an organization. However, in 1905 the namewas changedto the Office Public Records (OPR).The organization then went on to become a division of the United States Department of Agriculture. As seen throughout history, organizations seem incapable of maintaining permanent names. So, the organization's namewas changedthree more times, first in 1915 to the Bureau of Public Roads and again in 1939 to the Public Roads Administration (PRA). Yet again, the name was later shifted to the Federal Works Agency, although itwas abolishedin 1949.Finally, in 1949, the name reverted to the Bureau of Public Roads, falling under the Department of Commerce. With so many name changes, it can be difficult to keep up to date with such organizations. This is why it is most important to research and educate yourself on such matters.

QuestionMoving companies that operate within the borders of a particular state are usually regulated by the state DOT. Sometimes the public utility commission in that state will take care of it.This only applies to some of the U.S. states such as in California (California Public Utilities Commission) or Texas (Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. However, no matter what state you are in it is always best to make sure you are compliant with that state

QuestionThe term "lorry" has an ambiguous origin, but it is likely that its roots were in the rail transport industry. This is where the wordis knownto havebeen usedin 1838 to refer to a type of truck (a freight car as in British usage)specificallya large flat wagon. It may derive from the verb lurry, which means to pull or tug, of uncertain origin. It's expanded meaning was much more exciting as "self-propelled vehicle for carrying goods", and has been in usage since 1911.Previously, unbeknownst to most, the word "lorry"was usedfor a fashion of big horse-drawn goods wagon.
