Just moved from Indianapolis, IN to Columbia, SC metro areas (mid-December 2017). Eric W. was the overall coordinator, and Michael V. was the primary onsite person. Eric W. came to my home (and Storage Unit) in November. He was professional, and detailed. He gave me a quote for everything I asked. Initially I wasn't going to go with American Way since a competitor tried to poke holes at their statements. I first went with the competitor, but a day later after finding both American Way and National Van Lines are A+ with the BBB, I decided to go with them mainly due to their professionality. The day the packers were supposed to show was a mess. There were a ton of people sick, and a truck was broke down, so, at the end, they needed to come moving day. I was not pleased with this, since I like to avoid last minute stress, but at the end, everyone needs to remember, stuff happens, and what makes one company better than the other is how they deal with bad stuff. I'm not going to say moving day was without stress. It was, but Eric from a coordination side, and Michael, from an on-site side, did everything to make it work. It took longer because of the packers and movers working at the same time, but it did get done. The biggest surprise was how fast they were able to get everything to its new home. We closed on the new house on 12/15, and the furniture was delivered on 12/16 (8am, as promised). This was way shorter than the potential date of 12/26. Absolutely no complaints. Also, since we did a Do Not Exceeds quote, even though the weight of the truck was slightly higher than estimated, they honored their agreement. Moving everything back in day was mainly with the same people who loaded the truck up. That was a big, happy surprise to me, and made keeping track of the inventory that much easier. Between their knowledge of what they packed, and the system they used for inventory control it went smooth and simple. I can't say enough. Out of the many moves I have done, this was the easiest, most straightforward. Things were far from perfect, but in each challenge American Way and National Van Lines, addressed and overcame it. I hired this company approximately a month ago. I called to confirm twice and ask basic logistically questions. The move was a basic but large family move, 4 bedrooms, and garage. The service was booked for Saturday 06/27/2020. I hired a 3 team moving crew. The booked time was 8 am-10 am. The company was booked solely because of the great service they provided to my grandmother during her move over 4 months ago. These are the facts. The full complaint is listed on the BBB website. In short. They never showed up on 06/27/2020. They showed up a day late! Unprofessional and not managed properly. Please get a backup plan for your staff.

I had a government delivery of Household goods by Lewis & Michael, Columbus, OH (Prestige Moving & Storage). They were asked to assemble things that were disassembled at origin; asked to un-pack boxes and refused. Excuses were that they didn't have the tools; they didn't know how it was suppose to be put together; wrote on the form to call them to pick up boxes and paper since they were running late. Unpacked ourselves and called to have them pick up the boxes and paper that they were suppose to unpack and they wanted to change us $125 to come back to pick it up! Very unprofessional and I will make sure the U.S. Government knows about their lack of customer service required by contract in hope of relinquishing any further contracts for government (military) employees. Very very poor!

Every one of the three folks were quick and well mannered. The whole move was done in 4.5 hours, which is stunning considering that we moved from two unique flats.

Excellent company with great employees. I was referred to them by our realtor and they provided a great packing moving and unpacking relocation. I will definitely refer them to anyone I know moving. Thank you for making our move a great experience!

It's not very great to be valid! I had a superb involvement with these movers. I paid $65/hr for two folks in addition to $85 level rate for the truck. They moved from my second floor loft to another THIRD FLOOR flat in under two hours!! That is incredible! Particularly for just $215! (Furthermore $20 tip for every fellow) My just counsel would be to send an email affirmation to the client. It's decent to know everything is authoritatively an unavoidable reality to move.
