Cleveland, Ohio is the first settlement founded in the Connecticut Western Reserve. The city was originally supposed to be named Cleaveland, but those who surveyed the landscape made an error when creating the map, which caused the townspeople to refer to the city as Cleveland. In its beginnings, Cleveland was not very attractive to settlers because of the cost to own land. After the war of 1812, more people started to settle there and as time went on, the city slowly grew.
Downtown Cleveland, Ohio is currently going through a renaissance, according to locals. This town that once might not have attracted people from other parts of the country is booming with job opportunities in tech companies and its downtown is now popping up with microbreweries and sprawling eateries. This city has always had very unique and interesting pockets of different cultures from Slavic Village to Little Italy.
Plus, no one can forget that it is home to the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which once you make your move to Cleveland Ohio and become a local you might be sick of taking all your friends to when they come to visit. Cleveland, along with its museums, is also filled with other attractions such as the West Side Market where you can buy fresh produce, and the Progressive Park where you can watch the local baseball team play a game of ball, or even get a workout in yourself.
The nightlife in Cleveland rocks as well as there are many places to go to get your favorite drinks to relax and have fun with friends. Although Cleveland is a large city, it is not far away from nature as Cuyahoga Valley National Park is just a few miles south of Cleveland. Here, you can enjoy the nature either on a mountain bike or by foot. This park offers many paths for hiking as well and if you are not too interested in exploring in nature, there is also a wine tasting area within the park. If you think you can handle the city of Rock and Roll, moving here would not be a bad idea because of how great the city is.
