What a difference 11 months makes. I had hired this company last January to move me from the UWS to Inwood, as well as store half my belongings Smooth as silk, well worth their not cheap pricing.
I therefore I hired them again in August to move me to Sheepshead Bay. They were an hour late arriving, were slightly argumentative and surly, and traffic delayed them by two hours from my new building, but all in all worth it.
In the meantime, they neglected to bill me for my storage. I had to chase them - twice - about these arrears, which I paid both times promptly.
Over a week ago I contacted them about delivering my storage possessions to my new building. The set up and arrangements went fine, delivery window 3-6m, all the paperwork dispatched all seemed set. The day before it occurred to me that half the material would have to go into my new storage unit, and half up to my apartment. I called to warn them of this, ask if it was an inconvenience or an extra charge. I was assured not on all levels.
By 6pm, no sign of the delivery, vague admissions from the office that they started the job late and were stuck in traffic, no guarantee of arrival time, and the news that the update on the logistics had never been communicated. I had to listen to their manager berate me for not having put the updates in writing - which I'd offered to do but was assured it was unnecessary.
The result was a frantic two hour nightmare, scrambling outdoors at night to accommodate the strained resources of my building and directing the movers while POC's office hounded me by phone for no perceptible reason.
So far, not one word of apology, but several empty assertions of looking into the situation in their office, which I can promise you will result in nothing. I've referred the matter to the BBB.
