We couldn't be happier with the service we received from Vanguard. We recently had to move from Cambridge, MA to Santa Fe, NM (in the middle of the pandemic, no less!) We weren't sure if a local company would be able to handle this cross-country move, but Vanguard responded to our query within hours. Since in-house visits were impossible because of COVID, Vanguard based their estimate on a FaceTime tour of our apartment and things (the only company to do so; this meant they were also more confident in and committed to their estimate than other moving services we considered). The quote we received was very reasonable and lower than other companies we'd looked at. Tom and his crew showed up on time (wearing PPE) and were extremely professional and friendly. Vanguard was communicative with us throughout the move, they arrived on schedule, and not a single item of ours was damaged in the 35-hour drive. And as a final (unheard of!) surprise, the cost we paid ended up being a little lower than the estimate, since packing and unpacking took less time than they'd predicted. I would recommend this company to anyone with enthusiasm -- they combine the communication and care of a local business with the infrastructure and capacity of a much larger company. My husband and I have worked with them on both local and long distance moves and they always go above and beyond. All of our moves/storage needs were last minute and somewhat chaotic. Sheila is a rock star, Kate is amazing. The movers, both in Hull and down here in NC, were terrific. Everyone we spoke to and dealt with in the office in Hull was great. We will hopefully be moving into our permanent home in Chapel Hill in about 8 months, and we really wish D&W had an office here.

Quite an interesting experience we had with them. Since the very first moment they showed up, everything has been easy going all they way to the delivery. These guys worked their buts off! It was like a marathon! Everything synchronized and well handled. I've moved before yet this was a different and pleasant experience. Both, the crew leader and the helper were very polite and social. I'd recommend them to my friends. While the move was stress free for me, the price was too. Not the cheapest mover you'll see, yet there were no hiccups. Thank you Barnes!

I am EXTREMELY unsatisfied with MacDonald Moving services. They moved our entire house 1 state away and into a storage unit. I was not able to get into the storage because it was so full. However, about a year later when we are pulling out furniture we see that multiple pieces were damaged by MacDonald and tucked away without notification. It was not noted on their paperwork either. The amount that we paid these scam artists makes this entirely unacceptable! Do not, I repeat DO NOT use MacDonald Moving services. They suck!

AMAZING MOVERS! On time. Polite. Quick! I have never seen individuals move so quick! Sensibly evaluated. Joe and his group were at our home on time and inspired right to work, they wrapped up all the furniture in moving covers and were exceptionally watchful with everything. Exceptionally decent folks truly productive and when we got to our new home they asked where we needed everything and put it there and ensured we were content with the arrangement. Very suggested! Mike Reynolds and his group moved my Jamaica Plain 2BR loft lodging me, my wife, and 8 month old child. They made an extraordinary showing all the way. A four man group stuffed us up from 830AM-630PM or something like that. They worked rapidly and proficiently with awesome collaboration. They were all extremely alright with one another and made the pressing more agreeable. Unloading was extraordinary as well. A two-man group (counting Mike once more) unloaded us from 830AM-430PM or somewhere in the vicinity. Once more, they worked rapidly and proficiently. By and large, they were constantly agreeable, constantly proficient, and at last nothing was broken or unaccounted for. We were passed up how painstakingly they wrapped each of our dishes, glasses, and so on. It made unwrapping somewhat crazy with immense heaps of paper however I surmise that is about as good anyone might expect. The aggregate expense was about $5500 including full pack. amicable folks who appeared to have a great time cooperating and with us. they buckled down and were exceptionally proficient and accommodating. in any case, a few things were harmed regardless of the fact that slightly.first, they broke a wheel/caster off my weber barbecue. i didn't find this until later on and this took some doing on my part to repair. it will never look 100% again.secondly, they scratched one of the dark safety glass racks to our television stand. when we were endeavoring to return the racks on at the new house we couldn't at initially figured which one went where until part of the gang said goodness better believe it the scratched one goes on top! well I knew it was not scratched when we cleared out the old address but rather I said nothing as it was an exceptionally cumbersome minute and i had a ton else on my plate.what would I have achieved by saying anything so I bit my tongue.i have put dark electrical tape over the three and a half creep scratch.lastly, they broke part of the box on our office desk.there is a scar where i stuck it and the part moves some when touched however fundamentally it is by all accounts ok.overall somewhat baffled. wish I hadn't tipped them so well at this point.

Nathan and Mike were fabulous; they got to my place when they could, and explored the lift and long arrangement of sections out to the stacking docks. When they got to my new residence (the third story of a house), they attacked moving like creatures. These folks truly knew how to function! We needed to urge them to enjoy a reprieve to hydrate or drink some Gatorade. Matt and all the crew were all really nice, competent, and communicative. Having young kids, I thought it was really nice that I didnt need to manage the crew much. That allowed me to focus on the other move-related mental load tasks. All around, a great experience!!

I moved in August just before the top week toward the end of the month. The movers were on time, if not somewhat early, and they were speedy and expert. They couldn't have been more pleasant, particularly despite a small staircase in Beacon Hill! The entire move took 4-5 hours. It was somewhat more than I expected, and there was an entire hoopla with installment experiencing twice. In general however, they were an incredible decision for movers and took extraordinary consideration of my things, particularly the greater part of my sketches. I would utilize them once more.
