Shuklin operates his scam out of a tiny office in Hollywood, Florida. His company has no trucks. They use rental trucks and contract drivers to deliver items. The DOT has been pursuing Shuklin for several years but he has managed to evade prosecution through crafty means. However, the DOT is finally closing in on him. The 1101 Wilso Drive address is fake. Unified Van Lines has no office at that address. This particular company name was just registered with the State of Maryland and with the FMCSA/ DOT in late 2017. Shuklin ALWAYS holds goods hostage until customers pay much more than contracted. Each time the DOT/FMCSA shuts down one of his companies, he forms another company. I used Sal and his assistants to move from a large home to a townhome when we downsized. It was a large job, done well and very much worth recommending. But what really impressed me was a few years later when I moved again. I reviewed with Sal on the phone what I thought would be involved. He actually had a record of the first move, including a listing of the heavy items, and when we reviewed it, he explained this allowed him to determine how many assistants and how much time would be needed. On top of this, he came before the day of the move to plan. They packed the truck professionally and efficiently, and really earned this recommendation.

They said the visual quote was necessary to avoid any possible upcharges later down the road (which I guess is quite common for moving companies to do). They were able to get my home moved in one day. There was no increase in my cost. I appreciate their hard work.

This company is a sham! The movers don't even own their own trucks, and the driver billed me almost double of the quote. When I said I couldn't afford it, he told his 'boss' who then said he was holding my stuff until I paid. THAT'S EXTORTION. Now, after 30 days, they're threatening to auction my stuff. The driver's name was Steven The guy who wrote the contract was Martin I don't even know if that's their real names.
