DO NOT USE ENGLAND VAN LINES. Two of their representatives (Matt and David) came by our house and walked through every room and took down what was going to be moved. Based on their walk through we received a price. Once they left we went over the list and realized that they did not put the refrigerator on their list, so we called them back and asked them to add it.They said it would be no problem and they would not add anything to the price. They kept repeating how good their customer service was and how well they would take care of our furniture. On the day of the move they arrive and do another walkthrough. After going through the house, they point out that the refrigerator is not on the list and that our tables have glass tops and that our nightstands have granite tops. Therefore , they would have to up the price by 25%. We pointed out that they saw the furniture during the walk through and were well aware that we had glass tops, etc. They didn't care. In the end they just left and left us hanging. After calling their company main office they said they couldn't do anything and if we wanted to move we would have to pay the extra money. I said I would not do that, since that is extortion. I have no way of finding another mover on the same day and anybody who has moved knows how many parts have to come together during a successful move. These people will hold you hostage to extort money from you. DO NOT USE THEM!

This was the worst moving experience of my life. And I have moved by myself into a 4 story walk-up in the middle of DC summer, fell down a slight of stairs and got a mild concussion. England Van lines are dishonest, thieves and extortionists who straight up lie to get a job, avoid any communication and then break all your stuff anyway. Here is the story of our move with England Van Lines: - 5/2016: rep comes to our home, sees all of our stuff, gives us what he says is "a price, not an estimate because we are a 5-star company and that's what we do". Guarantees our pick up date and drop off date within a 5 day window. - 6/20/16: get call saying they will actually be arriving 3 days before the agreed upon pick up date because that's the only time they can come. - 6/26/16: movers arrive. Suddenly decide that it will cost TWICE AS MUCH to move our stuff. Apparently were not informed we'd asked for packing as part of the move. Takes them SIX HOURS to load the van because the did not have enough people for the job. - 7/15/16: the day we were "guaranteed" our stuff would arrive. Have not heard from them at all. Call multiple times, send emails. No response. -7/17/16: after calling every 5 minutes for an hour someone answers the phone!!!! They have no idea when our stuff will be shipped. It is still in the warehouse. They inform us that they have 21 BUSINESS days despite the verbal contract we were given (of 5 day window) or the actual contract we signed which says nothing about business days -7/20/16: still have not heard anything. Call 10 times. Leave voicemails. Speak to someone in sales who promises, promises someone from dispatch will call us back. No call back. - 7/23/16: have still not heard anything from dispatch despite several calls and voicemails - 7/29/16: after 5 calls that day get ahold of someone in dispatch. No trucks will be heading north in the next week apparently. I ask what can we do to get out stuff here in the next week. "Oh you could expedite the shipping for $4,000 more dollars". This is clear extortion but we have no choice. You can only sleep on an air mattress of so long. -8/2/16: Truck arrives!!!! They give us about 4 hours warning, no the promised 24 but at least they come. Unfortunately it is full of broken things. Our mirror bent into two and shattered, TV stand scratched, dresser drawers off their hinges, etc. BTW the drivers mentioned they had made several other stops on the way north so clearly there was a truck that was heading our way but they waited until we would pay extra. Moral of the story: we ended up paying nearly 3 times as much as the initial estimator promised and it took 5 times as long to come as we were promised. And our stuff was damaged and few things missing at the end of it.... Beware.

England Van lines was one of the best moving companies I have ever used. It makes me sad to see that others did not have positive experiences with this company, I don't really see how its possible to not be pleased with their services. Not only are England Van Lines very reasonably priced, but they also made my move one to remember. I could not have been happier with the expert manner in which they packed and transported my things. I would definitely use them in the future.

These guys were local when I did my google search, and they ANSWERED the phone when I had called for a rate. My boss and I were ecstatic for the helpful staff that relocated us here in Los Angeles, CA. Hope you like the tip boys, you earned it! You guys definitely broke a sweat today.

I called/interviewed multiple other movers. No one came close on price. England Van Lines was on time, on budget, responsive to questions, easy to use with on line delivery date request and calculator. I would absolutely recommend them. Can't imagine using a different company if you're moving from California to NY.

i had a great experience moving with England Van Lines. I've moved myself many times and what a headache it was. With this crew I didn't have to move a finger :). They were over the top helpful, big strong crew living up to there name!. They promised me a good service and that's exactly what I got.

My husband and I were very happy with our experience with this company. We hired them to do a local move in San Jose. The movers were extremely efficient and professional. They accommodated us when we had to change times at the last minute which really saved us a lot of hassle. I was hesitant at first to hire off of craigslist, but it turned out to be a great experience and value. I would definitely recommend this company.

England Van Lines Discount Moving was awesome and definitely a great value! I really can't say enough good things about them! They were prompt, professional and definitely the most competitively priced! I have moved several times, including cross-country and they have been the best moving company I've ever used by far. I will definitely call them again for all my future moves. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

England Van Lines were efficient, professional, diligent, and friendly. I felt so guilty sitting in the backyard with my coffee while they carried everything to the truck. After delivery, they even offered to move boxes from room to room if I wanted them to. Potted plants arrived safely, furniture was padded and wrapped, and the husband was delighted with our selection of moving company. Thank you, England Van Lines!

These guys took the pain out of my moving process. They came out to give me a quote and were extremely professional. They did a solid job packing my TVs and my large mirrors as well. The workers did a tidy job with everything and they even cleaned up after themselves. The move was overall a pleasant experience and I had no issues or complaints. I would hire these guys again in a sec they made it as painless as possible.

I am so happy with the service I got from England Van Lines. I was overwhelmed with the prospect of moving. It is difficult,stressful and very expensive. England Van Lines put together a plan and quote that worked for my needs and they executed it perfectly. The guys took their time packing my house and did a great job of it. delivery came as expected and they set everything up as I asked. great service from great people.

I have bounced around my whole life. Sometimes I moved myself but I have used professional movers 5 times previously to this one. I must say that England Van Lines was excellent at their craft and really had great communication and personal skills. Keep it going England Van Lines

I recently hired England Van Lines to move my house. They were without a doubt one of the best decisions I have made. They were VERY reasonable in price, they were on time and they cared for every item as if it was their own. I called them on short notice and the day after a holiday and they were very accommodating. I would recommend them to everyone I know.
